Lauren Schaefer

Lauren Schaefer is a detail-oriented software engineer with a passion for making developers' jobs easier. Her varied professional experiences and roles on several product teams give her a unique perspective and the ability to quickly pick up new technologies. She's done everything from traditional Java development to growth hacking to automation testing to developer advocacy to fast-paced web development. In addition to her "official" job roles, Lauren takes initiative to participate in other activities like leading a patent brainstorming team, serving on the IBM Agile Leadership team, and founding and growing a volunteer-run group to over 11,000 members.

Building on her master's degree in computer science and software engineering experience, Lauren excels at presenting concepts and products in an easy-to-understand way. She is experienced in reaching developers wherever they are: scanning social media, browsing the blogosphere, trying tutorials, watching YouTube videos, searching for sample apps, or attending international conferences. Lauren was recognized three years in a row as an IBM Technical Rock Star for the business impact of her tutorials and videos.

Lauren understands the pressures developers face as they attempt to rapidly develop high-quality software. And she is ready to help you help them.
