AWS Introduces Lambda Function URLs to Simplify Serverless Deployments
AWS recently announced the general availability of Lambda Function URLs, a feature that lets developers directly configure a HTTPS endpoint and CORS headers for a Lambda function without provisioning other services.
With the new feature developers can avoid relying on the Amazon API Gateway or the Application Load Balancer to map a Lambda function to a HTTP call. Each function URL is globally unique and can be associated with a function’s alias or the function’s ARN, implicitly invoking the latest version.
Microsoft Azure Adds Ampere Altra Arm CPUs
Microsoft has a new cloud instance series, and it is quite a bit different. Microsoft Azure is deploying Ampere Altra-based cloud instances joining the ranks of the Oracle Cloud as well as several prominent Chinese hyper-scalers. This is the next step of a long journey for Microsoft.
Microsoft announced that it is deploying the Ampere Altra processors. This is actually a big step since we have seen Microsoft publicly state that they have been evaluating Arm servers for half a decade.
Google Cloud brings search smarts to retail customers
New managed Retail Search service from Google Cloud wants to help digital retailers solve the dreaded search abandonment problem.
Google Cloud has released a new fully managed search tool, called Retail Search, which is aimed at retailers who are concerned about product discovery on their digital platforms.
The service is intended to solve a common retail challenge of losing customers when they don’t immediately find their desired product on an e-commerce platform.
