Microsoft grants Azure credits to open source projects for a year
Microsoft has announced a program that will grant Azure credits to open source projects for a year. Any project in any technology with an Open Source Initiative (OSI) approved license may apply, company officials said on September 28. Developers will be able to use these credits for testing, storage or other development tasks. They'll be able to reapply in subsequent years to continue to get more credits.
AWS and the NFL Stat That in new campaign
The NFL uses Next Gen Stats powered by Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) machine learning and AI to take fans, broadcasters, coaches and teams inside the action and show the hidden data behind each play. Amazon Web Services has launched a brand-new ad campaign that brings that relationship to life, showing how the NFL uses its real-time data and machine learning to transform their fan experience.
Google will use games to teach how the cloud works
Google launched a dedicated platform for cloud technologies teaching. The Capacita Mais website will offer videos in Portuguese and Spanish so that lay people can learn how cloud computing works. Most of the content can be accessed for free. The site will also offer live training, labs and certifications to help developers, students and Information Technology (IT) professionals to deepen their knowledge of cloud computing.
