After an $890M exit: new startup, new raising rounds
David Avgi has sold SafeCharge to the Canada-based company Nuevi, for $890M. In 2020, two years only after the previous deal, he has launched his new startup UNIPaaS, and has already raised $10M in a seed round, which was led by TPY Capital. The company develops a payments-tackling system for digital marketplaces and B2B enterprises.
The Israeli CYE has raised $100M
The cybersecurity company CYE has raised $100M in its last growth round, which was led by EQT firm with participation from 83North. The company was founded in 2012, and helps customers to upgrade the security level of their companies. How? well, it’s simple: they attack them (after receiving their consent), to find flaws in their defense forces. CYE has offices in Israel, London and New York.
Covid-19 consequences: a significant decrease in the startup investments field of Africa
For the first time in a decade, the startup investments field of Africa has started to decrease dramatically: The continent’s companies has raised the amount of $1.43B altogether in 2020, which is a 30% decrease, compared to the previous year. In addition, only two deals in the valuation of more than $50M were closed, compared to ten of this kind in 2019.
